The team from Chud made recommendations to make my system work even better than the original plan. That’s the benefit of using a great firm.
Response from Chud Air Conditioning & Heating:
Hi Eric & Margaret, we appreciate the good review. Chud works hard to create a good experience and reviews like this make it all worth it!

Completed Weil McLain boiler installation. Installed 3 new zone valves, new zone control panel, 3 new T1 thermostats, expansion tank, spirovent air eliminator, auto fill back flow preventer, added new isolation valves and bled air out of all 3 loops. Adapted to existing plumbing, electrical, gas line, and flue pipe. Cycled and tested, system working properly at this time.

After accessing the existing boiler system it was determined that just changing the zone valve powerhead was not the problem. Customer had “runaway” heat in the bedroom. The entire valve body would need to be changed. Expansion tank is outdated and there is a good amount of corrosion on the supply and return piping. Boiler system is 19 years old. Chud does not recommend draining this system and repairing as it could cause more problems. Existing low voltage wiring needs to be addressed as well to eliminate old relays and transformers. There is a steel frame around the equipment which adds to the difficulty to make repairs on this system. Chud will provide a quote to update the equipment and boiler “trim kit” accessories. Did not do any work/service on the equipment. N/C, estimate. ****Quote provided on site today, pictures in ST.**** Existing boiler Weil McLain M#CGA-4 SPDN, CP4767038.

Came out today for a air flow issue. Upon inspection I found that one of the ducts in the basement had come apart and some of the flex tuck had come off of the registers. There is also a boot that had come off of the duct. I reconnected the boot , zip screwed the duct in the basement and re attached the flex duct to the registers. The system is now connected properly and is operating properly at this time. The system is the home is an oil furnace.

Completed preventative maintenance on a Weil McLain CGa-4 SPDN gas boiler. Installed 2003. All (3) zones are working properly, water pressure is correct. Combustion analysis is within range at CO PPM 9. Limit set to 180. Pulled/cleaned burners and burner compartment. System operating properly and ready for the season. Renewal of repair agreement.
